Medical delivery services have been becoming more popular in recent years. Much like the popular ride sharing services such as Uber and Lyft, customers can take out their smartphone and request a delivery of medical marijuana. Patients are, of course, required to sign up with the service before their first delivery, show a government issued California resident identification car or driver’s license, and show proof of a doctor’s recommendation for medical marijuana. Once you have done this, you can get an order from a dispensary whenever you need one.
However, according to a recent news article from Rolling Stone, there is a new type of delivery service operating in the state of California. This service operates by sending a monthly delivery of high quality medical marijuana products to members of the club. The club requires you first go online, fill out some basic biographical information, and upload your valid doctor’s referral saying that you would benefit from medical marijuana, along with imputing a valid credit card number.
Once you have become a member of the club, you can “customize your Potbox” and wait for your monthly shipment to arrive. The company states that they only use all natural cannabis, and each Potbox comes with a quarter ounce of two different strains of cannabis. These two strains are supposedly hand selected and customized to your preferences. For example, if you prefer Satvia over Hybrids they can customer your selection to match your needs. In addition to the two jars of medical marijuana, the box will also contain two pre-rolled joints that have been made by hand at the farm and sealed in glass tubes capped with wax.
This new startup is only operating in San Francisco but is planning to open in Los Angeles in the very near future. The company is charging each club member or subscriber $150 a month for the service, and people seem to be very impressed with the quality and presentation of the monthly delivery. The company is clearly aiming to be viewed as a high quality service merchant for medical cannabis and compares itself to a personal tailor on the company website. The website also talks about ethical farming and fair trade practices.
As our Los Angeles medical marijuana attorneys can explain, the medical marijuana industry has come a long way in the past twenty years, at least in California. Today, we are dealing with cutting edge operations that are marketing themselves in more effective and creative ways than ever before. This is a great thing for those looking to enter the market. There is a still a lot of room left for those hoping to find their share of the profits, but there are also a great deal of legal issues and regulatory matters that must be addressed before you can officially go into business. While some people like to just get started with the business and worry about other issues as they come up, taking the time to do things right in the first place will not only help to keep you out of trouble, but may also save your business a lot of money in the long run.
